This year, The Learning Center is very excited to announce the start of our Maker Space.
Maker Spaces are a growing movement in schools and libraries around the world, offering people the chance to experiment, tinker, design, and collaborate. Our space will be open to all students during study halls and L blocks. We'll begin the year with some planned projects lead by myself and our student Maker Space leadership groups. As the year progresses, students will begin to plan and design their own projects as we increase our familiarity with computer coding and circuitry. The key principles of a Maker Space include:
Our first project will be a cardboard challenge, in honor of Global Cardboard Challenge month. We can't wait to see what students come up with!
