The goal of the Learning Center at Har-Bur  is to offer a flexible and respectful learning environment in which students and staff can engage in independent and collaborative inquiry and personal productivity through unlimited access to curriculum-based resources that are diverse in format, perspective and rigor.  We support the development of successful learners at all levels who are skilled in multiple literacies.

​We accomplish this by:

• Supporting and enhancing educational goals as outlined in the school’s mission and curriculum;
• Providing intellectual access, through physical and virtual means, to materials in a variety of forms, formats and media;
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to design resource-based, integrated and differentiated learning activities;
• Providing instruction of information and technology literacies; and
• Developing and sustaining the habit and enjoyment of reading and learning for educational, informational, vocational and recreational purposes.​​
